Christmas

This last year Christmas was a bit insane. We visited 6 houses in one day, with plans to go to another the next day (which didn't happen due to a snow storm). And that was only with one child. I can't imagine doing that with two! This year we decided we need to tone it down A LOT. This year we are going to try out something new. We won't go anywhere at all on Christmas day. We will just stay home and enjoy it with our own little family, and if people want to see us, they have to come to our house.
I also have thought I would like to try out less gifts. It just makes for a cluttered house anyway! It would be a lot better to do something for others instead. I thought we should try it while Spencer is still little and doesn't quite understand yet.
We'll see how it all goes- like I said this is a trial run year!

6 houses!!!! that would wear me out, without kids. it might be nice just staying home, but personally I couldn't do it, unless i knew others were coming over for a get together.
It's about setting priorities, lets say, hypothetically, that we were back from new zealand, you would want to come and see us!!!! as for less, I need to work on that.

The first year we moved away from UT, that was Russ's excitement about Christmas...No more visits all over the place. I hear you about Christmas. We now do just 4 gifts (I'm sure you have seen this on pinterest or other places.) We do something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read. And Santa beings a gift and small stocking stuffers. I still feel like that is a lot, but it definitely regulates what he gets. Plus there are always things from Grandparents.
