Various projects I've been working on...

Here are a bunch of pictures of the various projects I've been doing. My aunt is having a baby girl and my brother is having a baby boy so that makes for a lot of fun stuff to make (or at least try)! The last picture is peeled apples. I borrowed my grandma's dehydrator and my other grandma's apple peeler to make dried apples which are so yummy! Both are magic machines but especially the peeler, it cut prep time down to nothing!

They're made of what?!

Here are my wall decorations I made for our bedroom. They are made out of toilet paper and paper towel tubes. Then they were cut, glued together, and spray painted by my dear husband. Don't they look cute?
And yes they are not level with each other...our walls are concrete so the screws were placed by the previous owners and I can't really move them around.

Home Decor

Lately I've been noticing that our basement lacks decor. It's just all  white walls and carpet, nothing to spruce it up to be home-like. Half the problem is that the outside walls of the basement are concrete so you can't hang anything with nails and such. I've also wanted to paint our kitchen yellow because I think kitchens should be sunny and full of light. Well we decided that painting the kitchen is probably too big a project, and it's already a orangey yellow color anyway. So I decided to just try to bring out the yellow in the paint. I started with a board with words on it with colors I liked. Then for Christmas my mom gave us a tablecloth which coincidentally were the same colors as the board I had made (it was totally accidental but worked out perfectly) (she got us a tablecloth to replace the one we had before that shrunk in the wash that I loved so much). To bring out more yellow I had some yellow decorations already on the shelves by the sink, but added some pictures of yellow stuff.

I also have made some decorations out of toilet paper/paper towel tubes. I have pictures of someone else's but will post a picture when mine are completed and hanging.

Creativity Anyone?

This is some felt food I made for Spencer's kitchen he's getting for Christmas. I'm going to make more later when I get more felt colors.
I found the link for the carrot here and the apple here

New look!

The best things in life aren't things
Family A Gift that lasts Forever
Always Kiss Me Goodnight
Love makes a House a Home

So remember how I wanted to do something to my house? Well, I finally did! I borrowed my grandma's craft paints and really wanted something to paint so I went to the dollar store to find something, but unfortunately there was nothing to paint. There were some cute wall stickers though! They are just like the vinyl things you always see on people's walls, and it was only a $1! Plus, they come off a lot easier. Here are some of the pictures! I also found some other things to make for a decorative wreath and a Christmas present! I also found a wall sticker that said A Dream is a Wish The Heart Makes. I have a whole box of princess/Cinderella room decor if I ever have a girl and so I got it to add to the box!

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I feel like I want to make some changes to our house. Nothing big, but something like painting or organizing something differently. I've run out of things to organize because it's been done so much at my house :) Anyone have any fun, easy, cute ideas?

Here is a cute picture of my boys!

In my spring cleaning, I have realized we have a lot of big baby stuff that I have no place to put. Things like a swing, baby bathtub, jumper/bouncer, etc. These are all things he doesn't use anymore and they are big and bulky and I do not know where to store them. Ahh!!! Right now they are all stuffed in our guest room, but that can't be a permanent place for them. Oh the joys of children!

Yoga & Organizing

Last night, my friend and I went to our first yoga class. We LOVED it!!! We want to go back every week if possible. Only problem is, Jacob has church meetings and will not take Spencer :( So I'm going to have to find a sitter for him...drat.
Yoga is seriously awesome though. I felt so much better afterward and it was nice to get some time with my friend and for myself.

On another note, spring cleaning fever has hit! I have a book called "The Organized Mom" and I love to read it over and over. I know, I'm a total dork. But, I love to organize anything and everything!
