Week 5-ish

Wow! Where has the time gone?He is 5 weeks old already and I can't believe it. He is getting super big so fast. We love the time we have with him. This last week and a half has been fun-sort of. He's been super fussy lately and on Saturday he cried a lot of the day. He was so cute on Sunday for all the family and we even managed to get some super cute family pictures. When my dad is home, we are going to do some with my family as well. We had family over for the World Cup USA game, which was a lot of fun. Too bad I didn't get any pictures. On Friday, Jacob's work had a family picnic which we went to and enjoyed. I got to go to the doctor and everything is back to normal and healthy. I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight plus some more so that is exciting!
As far as I go, I'm getting pretty bored with myself and him at home all day every day. I had some projects I was working on, but I finished them and now don't know what to do with myself. I feel like I have to accomplish something everyday, and if I don't, then I feel like crap. Jacob says taking care of Spencer is an accomplishment, which it is, but I guess I just get bored with it. The one thing that makes it worth it is seeing him be so happy and responsive. This last week he smiled at Jacob for real for the first time. It was so cute. He can laugh in his sleep but doesn't do it on his own yet. Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can do to keep myself occupied? Keep in mind I already clean my house and do laundry and dishes, so those things don't count.

Have you started on his scrapbook? Janessa took my scrapbooking supplies when Jayben was born and I haven't needed them yet.

Lets see, if you have time plant a couple per-annual flowers in his name and watch them both grow.
How about that garden, there is always some weeds to pull or some dirt to turn over, but mowing the lawn is not so much fun, I guess that can be Jacob's job. One last thing, You used to love to write crazy short stories so using your current life experiences, create a make believe fantasy story about your daily accomplishments and life, 'EXPLOITS OF SUPERMOM'. Diapers can be a fight to the death to save your children from the evil Mr.POODOO, and perhaps having to sing to your children at night to ward off the dreaded SLEEPLESS FAIRY GANG. You get the picture.
Good luck working on your time management problems though. Grandpa.

I suggest getting a mother's group from your ward together. Nanette is involved with one and it helps break up her monotonous lifestyle. Every Thursday morning the go somewhere cool like Pioneer Park, Hill Air Force Base Museum, etc. Just an idea. Hang in there, it does get better.
