Dang Valentine's Wreath

I call it the dang wreath because I really wanted to swear a lot making this wreath. I found the idea here and fell in love with the idea. I didn't really think it would be too big a deal. Now, finally, after much frustration, lost patience, and burned fingers, it's finished! I do not recommend trying to make this wreath. It took way too much time and was way too frustrating. Luckily it cost less than five dollars to make. Once I had started I didn't feel like I could just stop. So here's the final product-how you think it looks good!

Tree house Museum

For Christmas our family received a year membership to the tree house museum. It gets two adults in with Spencer. We've gone twice and it's been a lot of fun! Spencer's favorite thing to do is run over the bridge a million times.

Home Decor

Lately I've been noticing that our basement lacks decor. It's just all  white walls and carpet, nothing to spruce it up to be home-like. Half the problem is that the outside walls of the basement are concrete so you can't hang anything with nails and such. I've also wanted to paint our kitchen yellow because I think kitchens should be sunny and full of light. Well we decided that painting the kitchen is probably too big a project, and it's already a orangey yellow color anyway. So I decided to just try to bring out the yellow in the paint. I started with a board with words on it with colors I liked. Then for Christmas my mom gave us a tablecloth which coincidentally were the same colors as the board I had made (it was totally accidental but worked out perfectly) (she got us a tablecloth to replace the one we had before that shrunk in the wash that I loved so much). To bring out more yellow I had some yellow decorations already on the shelves by the sink, but added some pictures of yellow stuff.

I also have made some decorations out of toilet paper/paper towel tubes. I have pictures of someone else's but will post a picture when mine are completed and hanging.

California!

Spencer fell asleep on my dad's shoulders during World of Color

During the first week of January, Spencer and I got to go to California with my dad's side of the family while Jacob went on a business trip to Florida. We had lots of fun going to Disneyland twice (thanks to Jeff and family for letting us use your park passes) and going to the beach. Most of all I think we just all enjoyed the warm weather (can you say 80's?)
Unfortunately, several of our electronics decided to die on this trip. Our camera got dropped on the ocean and then the next day got dropped on concrete. Luckily it was the day before we left so there wasn't much picture taking left to do. My phone also decided to stop working. All in all though it was a fun trip and much more fun than staying home without Jacob!

Crafts Crafts Crafts!

Can I just say how much I love crafts? For Christmas I received paints and also *excited face* a gift card to Michaels! I know I love Joann's but I decided that Joann's can be my fabric store and Michaels can be my general crafty store since it's closer to my house any way. Well I get emails from a site called all free holiday crafts. There were some cute Valentines crafts and so I decided to make some since I don't have much in terms of Valentines decor. I also came up with the idea of the blocks all on my own. I am currently working on a foam board wreath with tissue paper roses so I will post that picture when it's finished.

Fun with Bundt cakes!

For Christmas I got a Bundt cake pan from my grandma. I've wanted one since our friends brought a delicious Bundt cake to dinner and I wanted to be able to make one just like it! So far I've made 5-in just one month-and I have loved it! I don't think I'll be going back to normal cakes ever!
