Why Can't I Go Back?

With school starting this week and my baby brother starting high school, it's brought back a lot of memories. Seriously thinking about it makes me want to be in high school again. Oh, to feel invincible and cool and not have to care about life! I think I had a pretty good time in high school although it did have it's moments. I wish I could go back and change things too...I caused way too much pain for others and some painful things for me could have been avoided as well. Some of the things I really miss: playing in the Bingham Symphony with all my friends, Mr Boberg's history class, messing with Mr Thompson (orchestra teacher), hanging out with my friends, going to sports events, prom and other dances, my FRIENDS. Seriously this all makes me depressed and feel old because I have been graduated 5 years this coming year! Bah! It's so strange because it feels like yesterday... I hate feeling old and like a frumpy old mom...

Best Weekend 8/18-8/21 (Lots of Pictures!)

This last weekend was one of the best in a long time. It started out on Thursday going up to North Fork to go camping with our friends. They each have little boys around Spencer's age so it was fun for them to get to be together.
John and Henry. John is 2 months younger than Spencer and Henry is 4 months younger. Spencer lasted in that play pen about a minute. He was happy though to throw rocks and dirt into it while the others were in it.
Spencer loved to sit on this little chair. It was just his size. Our friends had brought it for their daughter who is 3 but Spencer stole it.
Of course, a little camping wouldn't be complete without eating rocks and dirt!
These are the guys and Julie. Marc is left with John (his wife Miriam and daughter Anna are not pictured here). Then there is Chace with Henry and Julie. The guys were all friends in high school. They broke out the RISK game about 10 once the kids were asleep. The girls were all on one team against each of the boys. We did pretty well, we took out Chace completely. after he almost wiped us out. Once we did that we let him play for us because we were tired. The game went on til 2 in the morning. At one point, a raccoon came and tried to steal marshmallows. We went to bed and then Spencer decided to wake up about once an hour so we didn't get much sleep.
We were going to stay another day but it was rainy and we didn't have any firewood so we left. We went on a hike to a waterfall which was a bit scary in places especially since Jacob was carrying Spencer.
On Friday night, instead of being at camp we went to the Ogden River parkway and looked at some of the dinosaurs through the fence. We then went and got some cookies at the Lofthouse factory. We went bowling at the Junction. Spencer didnt' like it when the ball would hit the pins; it made him cry.
We then went to dinner at Sonora Grill. We had a gift card to use. It was so good! It was a bit pricey but so delicious! We finished the night off by watching a movie called "The Snow Walker".
On Saturday we went to the zoo! We had to get the classic pictures of course.

Spencer loved to watch the elephants.

His favorite were the giraffes.
So big!

Showing us the tarantula- yuck!
This was the cutest little monkey. It was trying to eat a worm when I took this picture. Spencer liked to be at the window because it was right at his level.

It was a great weekend!

Accomplishment???

So since I've been out of school I've been a bit bored. I decided to put together all the puzzles I received from Jacob. He got me a box of 10 butterfly glitter puzzles. 5 of them were 500 pieces, 3 were 750, and 2 were 1000. This picture is of the last puzzle (1000 piece) and it's one of my favorites. I can now say that I've put them all together and I feel....

I'm not sure I can say I've accomplished anything, because it's pretty sad that this is all I've accomplished all summer. I've had no new job to feel accomplished in and have just stayed home all day every day with Spencer. A pretty mundane existence if you ask me...

New look!

The best things in life aren't things
Family A Gift that lasts Forever
Always Kiss Me Goodnight
Love makes a House a Home

So remember how I wanted to do something to my house? Well, I finally did! I borrowed my grandma's craft paints and really wanted something to paint so I went to the dollar store to find something, but unfortunately there was nothing to paint. There were some cute wall stickers though! They are just like the vinyl things you always see on people's walls, and it was only a $1! Plus, they come off a lot easier. Here are some of the pictures! I also found some other things to make for a decorative wreath and a Christmas present! I also found a wall sticker that said A Dream is a Wish The Heart Makes. I have a whole box of princess/Cinderella room decor if I ever have a girl and so I got it to add to the box!
