SuMmEr!
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year...or it has been. It's always been full of fun memories. Right now I'm really missing some of those memories... Here are a few:

So I think I have a problem. I think I have a shopping addiction. I like to shop because I feel like it's something I can control. I use it as stress relief but that doesn't always work. When I go shopping, I want to find good deals. I'll find things on clearance for a good price, or I'll use a coupon. But then, I get really bad buyer's remorse after the fact and I want to take it back. So I do (sometimes, not all the time). Then I sit and stress about money ALL the time. It's no fun.

Welcome!
My name is Brittany and I'm a stay at home mom who loves to sew! I discovered this when I took some sewing classes in middle school, so I've been sewing a long time. Some of my creations include prom dresses, quilts, baby blankets, and baby shower kits. I started this blog because I have lots of fun sewing and creating and want to share it with others!

5 Fun Things You May Not Know...
So I've been bored lately so I decided to post a few things people may not know about me!
- I play violin. I started playing in 8th grade and went all the way through high school. I auditioned for the WSU orchestra but didn't get in :( I really like to play, mostly with other people. I loved it when I was in the Bingham Symphony at BHS.
- I love to sew- anything! I have made lots of things including prom dresses, quilts, and baby shower gifts. I also love to read!
- I love to shop. I really didn't discover this until a little while ago, but I love it. My favorite store is JoAnn's. I am like a kid in a candy store in that place. If I didn't have so much restraint, I might go into A LOT of debt because of that place. (PS- I really actually only like to shop when I can get things for a good deal on sale or clearance. I dislike paying retail for anything. Just ask Jacob, I'm kinda a tightwad about money)
- My hair is naturally blonde and brown. The left side is blonde and right side is brown. My eyebrows, eyelashes, arm and leg hair are the same way. Over the years, I've parted it more down one side so that it looks like there is a more even distribution of the blonde because I get tired of people asking why I only dyed one half of my head one color. I have quite a few school pictures that show how defined the line between blonde and brown is.
- I love to dress up. No, not for church, but formal dress up. I loved getting to wear pretty dresses and look pretty in high school for dances and also when we go on cruises. I have quite the collection of formal dresses in my closet, my favorite being my wedding dress. It's kinda sad to think they just sit in there and don't get used much. And for some reason, I hate wearing skirts and dresses on Sundays- I try to get out of them ASAP after church.

This post is kinda sad...
The other day we were at someone's house and we were outside talking as we were leaving. A person (who shall remain nameless) asked Jacob when he thought something would be ready for him. Jacob told him he'd be gone for work so probably not til after that. The other person said, "Well, that's when you should get the most done. You don't have any family to tie you down."
I sure hope his wife didn't hear that. It hurt so bad and made me feel terrible. It made me feel like Spencer and I are the reason nothing gets done by Jacob or that we're what's holding him back. I just felt like family should come first. I guess I see where I stand.

Silly Me!
Last night I had the craziest dream. I dreamed I was back at high school, but I had Spencer with me some of the time. It was so funny because my high school was about 5 levels high in the dream and really high tech. It had a McDonalds and Subway in it (although the Subway was super expensive lol). It had a huge play place as the day care/preschool. And me and my crazy crush on my high school history teacher lol. And I dreamed that I saw Mr Davis (my AP lit teacher) but instead of brown hair it was really bright blond like he was super old. I have to say I woke up laughing.
2 nights ago I also dreamed about high school, but it was more about people from my high school. I have a few friends who are marrying each other today and I must have been thinking about the reception because it seems like that's where the dream was taking place. I dreamed that one of my friends was engaged to the drama teacher. That's all I remember about that dream but I'm pretty sure I was laughing the whole time in the dream and once I woke up. It was so funny!
Now, before you go and commit me to the psych ward, just remember I have no control over my dreams!

Garden Makeover

I decided our front yard flower boxes were looking pretty bad so I decided to make them over. All I did was pull out the weeds, transplant the tulips, put down weed fabric, and cover it with mulch. I don't mean this to sound cocky, but I am really proud of myself. I did it mostly alone with no help other than Jacob helping with the heavy bags of mulch and he spread it around a bit too. I have never really been an outdoorsy type who likes to get dirty, but it felt so good to watch it go from terrible looking to really nice. And hopefully it won't require too much weed pulling!

I've noticed lately that my blog has been kind of a downer...so I've decided I'm going to try to post more positive things. Here are some things I loved this weekend:
- Laughing with Vickie and Lesi so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants
- Grandma Mac's scones with butter and powdered sugar...yum! (I think I gained 3 pounds this weekend)
- My dad getting up with Spencer at 430 in the morning and just rocking him in the chair so I could sleep :)
- Spencer's first tastes of Farr's ice cream from Sweets & Things in Lava (playdough and huckleberry flavors)
- Trevor stealing Spencer every chance he could
- Watching Spencer splash and play in the hot tubs in Lava (and also later in our own)
- Card games, Trouble, and pool
- Swinging (with and without Spencer), frisbee golf, and watching all the guys play basketball (Jacob schooled them all)
- Going to Smith and Edwards for the first time and LOVING the candy aisle
