Good Idea?

So I've been thinking lately about how I have a bunch of old prom dresses that didn't get used much. They are still in really good shape. However, I can't seem to make myself want to get rid of them. I am very attached to them. Plus, half of them I made myself, so I can't go throwing that away! So I was wondering if maybe it's a good idea to rent them out to girls from my house... Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions? I also know of a lady who rents them out of her house and you get money each time someone rents your dress.

2 months old!

Spencer is 2 months old today. I can't believe it. It seems like it's been a lot longer than that... He weighs 11 pounds 4 ounces and is 21 and 3/4 inches long. He is below the 5th percentile for height so he is really short! The doctor says he has the biggest umbilical hernia he's ever seen on a white kid! The doctor also says he has a big head. He sleeps for about 5 hours at night and then eats and goes back to sleep for another 3 hours. He had to get shots today which was very sad. He is a really good bleeder though. He was gushing after one poke- crazy! Maybe he has hemophilia? He is a really good baby and is very cute and we love him a lot. We can't imagine life without him. Last week he got to be babysat by both grandmas. Once while I went to work and once while Jacob and I went out with some of my friends from high school. They both enjoyed it, or so they say. He has been very talkative lately and super smiley.

Fireworks

Week 7

Well, Spencer is 7 weeks old now and getting cuter everyday. I was supposed to start back to work this week, but due to the slowness of the unit, I got called off! So now my first day back will be Saturday morning. I hope Jacob will wake up with Spencer since sometimes he doesn't. Spencer is so smiley and talkative, it's really fun. He is getting into a rhythm I think: Eat, be awake for 1-2 hours, sleep for 1-2 hours. I have been keeping myself busy with random projects around the house. I made Spencer a really cute hat. We camped out in our backyard on Friday night which was really fun. We basically just slept in our tent and that was it. But Spencer slept in his car seat and did really well. We had a really fun weekend with Jacob's family. We went frisbee golfing on Saturday, family dinner on Sunday, and fireworks on Monday. Spencer survived the fireworks. At first he wasn't sure what to think of them and just watched them for the first few minutes. Then I think all the sound started getting to him and he cried for a little bit. Jacob would hold him and bounce him and he'd cry for a minute and then just watch a minute. So it was a mixed reaction I'd say. He's been super congested and stuffy lately so he sleeps in his swing now. We don't have it going, he just needs to be upright so he can breathe better.

So this is one of the things I've been working on in my spare time. I've had the quilt blocks unfinished for about 5 years and just this year have put it all together. My mom gave me the idea to try to sell it, so that's what I'm going to do. If anyone is interested, email me at butterflybrit@msn.com

Week 6

My baby is 6 weeks old. Wow! Since we last posted, it's been a bit of a crazy time. Spencer hasn't been sleeping well anymore so that's no fun. He has been a little stuffy and doesn't like to lay on his back. However, he has been more smiley and talkative so that is a plus. I've been keeping busy with things I've found to do. I've sewn together 2 quilt fronts and now all I have to do is add batting and a back. Spencer and I went down to South Jordan on Wednesday to spend the day with family and that was fun. We went shopping and to dinner. Spencer enjoyed being cuddled and loved by grandma and grandpa and Tye and Trevor. I will post pictures of the quilts when they are finished because I am trying to sell them. I have way too many blankets and quilts!
